The Skier's Responsibility Code
Safe skiing is everyone's responsibility

1. Always stay in control, and be able to stop or avoid other people, objects, or animals.

2. People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.

3. You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible from above.

4. Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.

5. Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment (which are already included on most rental equipment).

6. Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.

7. Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride, and unload safely. Do not jump form the lift. In the event of prolonged stoppage, the Ski Patrol or mountain staff will evacuate you.

8. If you have a collision resulting in injury to another skier, it is your responsibility to stay at the collision site until the Ski Patrol arrives.

9. Do not ski slopes too difficult for your ability.

10. Skiing is a positive environmental experience. All skiers should make every effort to care for the environment. Please don't litter.

11. All skiers are responsible for their own equipment and personal belongings. Equipment that is left unattended and unsecured has the potential of being stolen.

12. Do not ski backwards. This is dangerous and leads to serious injury.

13. Never throw any objects from ski lifts. Most ski areas will revke your privledge to use their lifts if you fail to comply with this rule.

This is only a partial list. Be safety conscious!
