Belleayre Planning for November 21st Opening
Job Fair This Saturday
November 16 , 2009, Highmount, NY - Mother Nature has not cooperated so far this fall as unseasonably mild temperatures have postponed the start of the ski season in the Northeast. But the Belleayre Ski Center is primed and ready for action once the mercury drops and the snow starts to fly. While last Saturday’s scheduled opening had to be postponed due to the weather, our new, projected opening is tentatively slated for Saturday, November 21st.
This past weekend featured the annual Tap into Winter party with a fashion show of the latest winter apparel courtesy of Jimmy’s Belleayre Ski Shop and Blue Sky Sports. A couple dozen intrepid skiers and boarders took advantage of some snow left over from the previous week’s system test for the season’s kick-off Rail Jam despite the rain and fog.
This coming weekend will feature Belleayre’s annual Job Fair on Saturday, Nov. 21st for anyone interested in working on the mountain this winter. The Job Fair will run from noon to 6 p.m. at the Longhouse Lodge. Some of the positions available are in the ski shop, nursery, ticket office, lift attendants, parking lot attendants, janitorial staff, cafeteria, snowmaking, lift maintenance and the ski school. Best of all, you get to ski and snowboard all winter for free. For further information visit our website at www.belleayre.com and join the Belleayre family.
Season passes designed to fit the needs of you and your family are on sale now and if you purchase your passes before November 30th, you qualify for the Early Bird specials.
And mark your calendar for December 1st when the new Catskill Region frequent skier card goes on sale. Enjoy a 20 percent discount at Belleayre, Hunter, Windham, Plattekill and Holiday Mountain all season long when you purchase your personalized CATS card for only $25. Call (800) NYS-CATS (697-2287) or visit www.mycatscard.com. The card is valid on non-holidays, cannot be combined with other offers and is non-transferable.
Belleayre’s Kids Camp six-packs are also on sale. Purchase the first five and get the sixth visit for free. Belleayre is known as being one of the best places to learn how to ski. Enroll your kids and find out why. The passes can be purchased by calling (845) 254-5600, ext. 2474 or 2444.

Belleayre is a year-round outdoor recreation center in the Catskill Mountains operated by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
