TRADITIONAL SOUTH AFRICAN MELODIES HEAT UP BELLEAYRE
The Belleayre Conservatory Presents the Internationally acclaimed Ladysmith Black Mambazo

Highmount, NY, July 28, 2009 - With August upon us, an outdoor summer concert is a perfect family affair to not surpass. The Belleayre Music Festival is eager to present what Paul Simon insisted to be an integral synergy in his “Graceland” album, Ladysmith Black Mambazo. This Saturday, August 1 at 8:00pm the group will perform the a cappella talents of their traditional South African music. The 2009 Emmy Award winning group accompanied Nelson Mandella at his Presidential inauguration and has performed with numerous artists including: Sarah McLauchlan, Josh Grobin, Pete Seeger, Natalie Merchant, and guests like James Taylor and Stevie Wonder. Tickets under the Tent can be purchased by visiting www.belleayremusic.org and range from $25- $55, with lawn seats available for $15. An evening dinner beginning at 6pm is a picturesque way to begin the evening, with outdoor seating at the Bluestone Café of the Overlook Lodge.

Other weekend events at Belleayre Mountain include a “Birding Hike” with Eco Adventurers, meeting at 11:00am at the Belleayre Beach on Saturday. The hike leader, Michelle Wooton, will highlight the walking tour with local, bird viewing and information. This hike is complimentary with your Lake Entrance fee; be sure to wear sturdy shoes or sneakers. Also, the DEC Lecture Series will host its third lecture on Bats with a slideshow presentation at the Pavilions of the Belleayre Beach, beginning at 1:00pm. This outdoor learning arena will make for an informative and enjoyable experience for all ages.

The Aqua School at Belleayre Beach will be holding a two-day “Freestyle Development” Clinic for only $25. Troubleshoot your stroke technique and receive personalized feedback to become a streamlined and stronger swimmer. Registration for this clinic can be done by calling (845) 254-5202 or at the Lifeguard Office of Belleayre Beach. Visit www.belleayre.com for all Eco Adventure events and Aqua School Workshops and Swimming Lessons.
